The descendants of Ryaland Beata Johnson met at the East-lan- d Church Saturday, December 27 for a family reunion. The church is enjoying their new Cultural Hall. PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed proposals will be received by the Utah Department of Transportation, Room 608 State Office Building, Salt Lake City, Utah, until 2 oclock p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 1976, and at that time publicly opened for construction of A Bituminous Surfaced Roadway in San Juan County, the same being that section of State Road No. 95 From White Canyon to Comb Wash identified as Federal Aid Project No.s. FLH-42(and RS -- 0370(10) The length of road to be constructed or improved is 28.609 miles, and the principal items of work are approximately as follows: 93,690 Tons of Bituminous Surface Course 34 Maximum, 5870 Tons of Bituminous Material Grade AC -- 10 Viscosity Graded Asphalt and 179,200 Tons of Untreated Base Course V4 or 1 Maximum The project is to be completed in 160 working days. Prequalifications of bidders is required. Prior to any bidders receiving plans and specifications, it will be necessary that the bidder have on file with the Utah Department of Transportation completed and the required Pre qualification approved, Statement pertaining to contractors experience and financial condition. The attention of bidders is directed to the Special Provisions covering subletting 1) or assigning the contract. In conformity with the Federal-ai- d Highway Act of 1968 the U.S. Department of Labor has certified the wage rates for this project which are the minimum wages to be paid on this project. These rates are made part of the contract documents. The attention of bidders is directed to the fact that this Department has been advised by the Wage and Hour Division, U.S. Department of Labor, that contractors engaged in highway construction work are required to meet the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. (52 Stat 1060). The Utah Department of Transportation, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and the Regulations of the Department of Commerce (15 C.F.R, Part 8), issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the ground of race, color, or national origin. The Utah Department of Transportation also notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. A current list of minority contractors, suppliers, and equipment lessors is available and will be furnished by the Utah Department of Transportation, Room 608, State Office Building, upon request. Proposal forms, plans, and specifications are on file in the office of the Utah Department of Transportation, Salt Lake City, and the office of its District Director at Price, Utah where they may be reviewed by prospective bidders. Specifications, proposal forms, and plans may be obtained only at the Department Offices at Salt Lake City, upon application and payment of a fee of $20.00, no part of which will be refunded. Each bidder must submit a bid bond from an approved surety company on forms provided by the Department; or in lieu thereof, cash, certified check, or cashiers check for not less than 5 of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the Utah Department of Transportation, as evidence of good faith and a guarantee that if awarded the contract, the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the contract bonds as required. The right to reject any or all bids is reserved. Any additional information may be secured at the office of the Utah Department but continuously. By compounding your interest continuously, the rate of 5 per annum yields 5. 13 per annum, when both principal and interest are left for a full year. Accounts are insured to $40,000, of course. You can add to or withdraw from your account at will. Your money earns from Day One. And, all the time its on deposit, it has earned interest from continuous compounding. You can also make deposits by mail and transfer arrangements between checking and savings accounts are available.
