Canasta Club met with Bes- sie West August 14 with three tables to play. Bennie Martinez has been sent to Germany and his wife Barbara Skidmore Martinez and their little girl will go later. Helen Redshaw and Avis Snyder hosted the U.M.W. ladies Thursday at Helens home. Stephanie Barry underwent surgery at a Grand Junction hospital, Friday, August 16. Mildred Miller, LaRee Miller and Herma Johnson hosted a pink and blue shower at the Eastland Church for Mrs. Dale Hoggard August 13. The Hoggards are living in East-lan- d. There was a reception at the Eastland Church Saturday evening for Mr. and Mrs. Danny Johnson who were married recently and are making their home in one of the Redds apartments in Monticello, as Danny is with the Forest Service there. Danny Carhart was home last week from Denver and spent one night with Richard Redshaw. The Jim Barrys from Gunnison, Colorado have been visiting Judys parents, the Lyle Blaisdeles, near Cortez and spent Sunday with James Barry.
