The family lived on a homestead at Monticello, in a mining town at Vanadium, Colorado and eventually in Montrose, Colorado where the children grew up. In 1937, she and her husband went to Salt Lake, where he passed away after a lingering illness. A year later she married Albert R. Lyman in the Salt Lake Temple and they moved to Blanding, where they have lived since 1942. She always loved the Gospel, taught in every auxiliary of the Church, filled several missions to the Lamanites, whom she learned to love dearly. In devoting her time to them, she worked herself into the hospital due to the taxing responsibilities the work entailed. She enjoyed her role as a Relief Society Visiting Teacher and wrote many verses describing this pleasure. Her work with the youth filled a place in her life and one of her thrills was learning of the accomplishments of the many children she knew. Whether related or not, she loved them all. Mts. Lyman was also actively engaged in genealogy work. She loved traveling and some of the highlights of her life were trips to the Near Ledal Notice East, Canada, Mexico and just around San Juan. The past few years, her life was devoted unselfishly to helping Pa Lyman in his writing and studying of the Gospel principles. She was loved and will be missed by all. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lyman is survived by: Philip Otis Tomney of Las Vegas, Nevada; Mrs. Tim (Iris) McCoy, Mesa, Arizona; Mrs. Roscoe (Elda) Grover of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Byron C. (Casse) Monson, Sandy, Utah; Mrs. Delbert (Enone) Hardman, Provo; Mrs. Marvin J. (Ky) Bishop, Bountiful; Karl R. Lyman, Orem; Mts. James (Ann) McQueen, Taylorsville; Mrs. Floyd (Ellen) Atkin, Cedar City; Mrs. Henry Smith (Edith), Glendale, California; Mrs. Russell C. (Alberta) OBrien, Germany; and Mrs. Don (Guen) Smith, Blanding. Also surviving are one brother, John Perkins of Blanding: 2 sisters, Sarah Barton, Monticello, and Mrs. Ed (Minerva) Rowe, Beaver, Utah; and many grandchildren, and great - grandchildren great-great-grandchild- Services far Mrs. Lyman, held in the Blanding Ward Chapel on Wednesday, April 12, opened with a family prayer by Scott Thomas Lyman.
