Mrs. Perkins passes I ti- - away f ' ilr. and Mrs. Ned A. Jen- sen, Monticello, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Nedra, to Mr. David Bruce Bunker, Salt Lake City. Miss Jensen is a graduate of Monticello High School and is presently attending Brighajn Young University where she is a senior majoring in Child Development and Family Relations. She expects to receive her B. S. Degree in August. Mr. Bunker is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Ellwood Bunker of Salt Lake City. Hq is a graduate of Granite High School and is also attending Brigham Young University where he is majoring in Business Management. He has filled a two year L. D. S Mission is Australia. The wedding has been set for June 4 in the Salt Lake Temple. Some of the highlights of Blakes enjoy Carribean vacation Mr. and Mrs. Donald Blake returned this week froih a six weeks vacation in Texas and in Guatanamo Bay, Cuba. They drove to Texas, going through Smokey in the Bear Forest in the way. This . Forest is of special interest to the Blakes because Chap's uncle, Elliott Barker, who was State game warden at the time was instrumental, in getting Smokey flown to Washington for treatment after a game warden found tlje 5 lb. cub clinging to a charred tree and whining like a sick child. They took in the Pinewood Derby and saw their two grandsons win ribbons on their cars. They also took in a rock show and visited the Flea Market. Mrs. Stella Butt Perkins passed away in the San Juan Nursing Home March 3, 1971. She was bom April 16, 1866 in Bluff to Ency Bayles and John Parley Butt. She married John Perkins Aug. 24, 1904 in the Salt Lake Temple. She is survived by her husband John Perkins of Monticello. he is also survived by three daughters, Mrs. Nedra Hazelwood, Monticello, Mrs. Dixie Scorup, Monticello and Mrs. Loya Gardner, Salt Lake City. Other survivers are six grand- 13 great grandone great great and children, grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. children, Leah Bartell. She is also survived by a brother, H. U. Butt, Monticello, and four sisters; Eva D. Bronson, Monticello, Lenora E Jones, Salt Lake City, Alana Riskie. Dove Creek, and Mildred Posey, Cortez. Funeral services will be held in Monticello LDS Chapel Friday March 5, at 2 p. m. with interment at the Monti- cello Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel one hour prior to services. Mrs. Perkins was a member of the LDS Church, the Prima: Mutual and the Relief Society She and her husband were among the first to homestead East of Town. |
