Soapy Perkins Demonstrator makes claim The recent editorial about the Horses Head in The Re- Closeout cord has prompted one senior citizen, Mr. John Perkins of Monticello, to come forward and state that he was the person who first saw the Horses Head. Mr. Perkins stated that in about 1910, when he was driving a wagon of feed from east of Monticello into Monticello he happened to look toward the mountain and there got his first glimpse of the Horses Head, outlined in white.
