Monticello Jaycees are sponsoring their fifth annual Rodeo to be held during Pioneer Days and which will be held at the Fairgrounds in Monticello. All girls who desire to enter the competition for the Rodeo Queen are invited to do so. A Queen and her two attendants will be selected on June 29 in judging to be held at the Fairgrounds at 3:30 p. m. and to which the public is invited. Prior to the judging a tea will be held starting at 3 p.m. for the Judges, the sponsors of each contestant and for each contestant. To be eligible to enter the competition for the Rodeo Queen the contestants must meet the following require- ments: (1) Be from Monti cello or the surrounding area. (2) Be sponsored by a civic organization, a church group or a business house (3) Have a basic knowledge of horsemanship, (4) wear Western attire, (5) must be 16 years or older and be single (6) must provide herself with a hone, (7) must be available for the Blanding Frontier Days parade and Rodeo as well as for Monticellos Pioneer Days.
