The Selees moved there recently from Moab where they lost their trailer home and belongings by fire. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Saunders and John Saunders went to Page last Saturday. They now live in Des Moines, Iowa. They came for the graduation of their daughter, Joyce, from BYU. Mrs. Phoebe Scott, her dauMr. and ghter and Mrs. Coons from Mesa were overnight guests of Mrs. Scotts nephew, Harris Shum-waThey were on their way to Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Orr have been vacationing in Ogden and Salt Lake City. They visited with Judy Tatro Taylor and her husband. Judy is formerly of Blanding. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Bayles held an open house at the Blanding library for their son Dwayne and his new bride. Mr. and Mrs. Derby Laws stopped here for a brief visit with Derbys mother, Mrs. Mary Laws. Derby Is a professor at BYU and resides in Orem. They spend their summers in Texas. Mrs. Jennie Peterson went to Salt Lake City to assist her daughter Anna, who was taking two of her children for medical aid. President and Sister Baird of the Southwest Indian Mission were in Blanding Friday night. Mr. Baird spoke at a special meeting at the Blanding Indian Branch. It is always a treat to listen to President Baird. Sister Baird is the sister of Kenneth Maughan of Monticello. . Mr. and Mrs. Francis Lyman took a group to Halls Crossing for four days. They moved to Cortez where they plan to make their home. R. G. Marold went to last Saturday where he participated in the rodeo. Mrs. Maxine and Carol Ann Brande left Sunday for Provo where Carol will attend BYU. Around 65 children enrolled in the elementary school here Friday. Imo Crain and her family returned to Dove Creek Sunday to put the children in Chil-chinba- school. Gay Staveley went to Grand Junction last week to get some docking material for their marina. Bill James is helping them now since Joe has left to prepare for college. Ronald and Judy Neff went to Grand Junction Sunday to get some furniture as they are moving into the house Thompsons vacated. The Ralph VanArsdales went to Kayenta Saturday to enroll Bernie in school there. . The Chapel family returned to camp Friday after spending the summer in Teasdale. Mr. Chapel underwent surgery on his leg and is reported as doing fine. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Croute, who have been living in one of Ferrees cabins, are leaving for Farmington where he is going into the trucking business. Myron and Elouise Ferree were in Salmon, Idaho last week enjoying some fishing. Myron is real proud of his 22 lb. salmon. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dee and Raymond from Traer, Iowa were visitors at the Dave Staveley home last week. The Dees were on their way to Colorado so stopped for awhile as Joan and Raymond were in school together.
