Show Fair weather boosts held Services for Mrs. Boyles employment trend Funeral services were held for Mrs. Evelyn Lyman Bayles Wednesday afternoon at the Blanding Church of Latter-da- y Saints. Mrs. Bayles passed away March 24 in Mesa, Ariz. O My Father was rendered by the choir, invocation was given by Dr. Wesley Bayles. Mrs. Josephine Bayles gave a short sketch of Mrs. Bayles life which was followed by a talk by Merlin Stevens. Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life was sung by Helen Bayles. Other speakers were Albert R. Lyman, Scott Bayles, and Bishop Scott Hurst. Benediction was given by Donald Bayles. Burial was in the Blanding cemetery and the dedication of the grave was by Edward Lyman. All of Mrs. Bayles children except her son Dee, who was ill, attended the services. LOCALS Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bailey and children spent the spring vacation sightseeing in Utah. They also attended an Open House held Saturday in Salt Lake City for Mr. Baileys grandmother. Jobs made available surged upward, and unemployment went down, as the Utah labor market experienced its first spell of fair weather in several weeks, reported M. B. Lincoln, manager of the Moab employment security office. Job calls totaled 1,309 during the week ended March 24, an increase of 235 over the week before, and 273 over the same week in 1961, he said. They were well distributed most industries throughout and occupations, and, pointed out Mr. Lincoln, give evidence the Utah economy is pointed tow'ard the annual spring up- turn. The jobless ratio bore out this contention as it fell from 5 per cent of the insured work force for the week ended March 17, to 4.6 for the cur- rent week. Commissioner Hyrum Black proposed the resolution after discussion of several instances of trash accumulation throughout the county. Some of the more flagrant cases will receive personal attention from the commissioners as many are on main highways and do not present an Ideal impression to tourists coming into the area. . GRASSHOPPER PROBLEM Cloyd Johnson, Eastland, and County Agent Rell Argyle appeared before the commission Monday and explained the problem that county farmers are facing with the expected outbreak of hoppers this year. They explained that the could be quite infestation serious due to the amount of undisturbed land in soil bank and Indicated that It was quite difficult to contact soil bank landowners since many are out of the state and have refused to go along with a spraying program. Commissioners suggested that since the situation was brought on by federal government action it would probably be best to write do the congressmen and inform them of the situation and attempt to secure federal aid for the spraying operations. They pointed out that the county has no funds with which to finance such a venture but offered to contact congressional leaders In an attempt to get federal action. ItOAD WORK Yuba Development Corp., Grand Junction, Colo., asked the commission in a letter for repair on the Hideout Mine road.
