This represents an increase of $1500 over the current years budget. There were no protests filed before or at the Wednesday public hearing on the matter. Major change in the 1959 budget included an expenditure of $10,-00- 0 for city improvements. Only other item of concern discussed by the council was the feasibility of enacting the Green River Ordinance in Monticello. Mrs. Lozier has been ill since the day before Thanksgiving when she was hospitalized for double pneumonia. Recovering, she was released from the hospital only to be taken back after a light stroke. Five days late, she died of heart failure. Mrs. Lozier was living at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Carlson at the time of her death. She had moved to Monticello from Ralston, Nebraska the first part of October this year. Previously she had visited Monticello numerous times, making many friends here. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carlson, and three sons, A. Gordon Lozier and David W. Lozier of Omaha and Theodore W. Lozier of Ralston. There are eleven grandchildren and ten greatgrandchildren. She also has four sisters surviving her, Mrs. S. M. (Ella) Thompson and Mrs. Henry (Mabel) Shaeffer of Glen Arbor, Michigan, Mrs. W. B. (Josephine) Jacklin of Chicago, 111. and Mis. O. G. (Irene) Smith of Monrovia, California . Funeral services for Mrs. Lozier were held Thursday afternoon at the San Juan Community Church with Reverend Clyde Wilson officiating. DeMar Perkins of Monticello igave a brief summary of her life.
