Show FRIDAY, APRIL 25, 1958 THE Health Service Plans Special TB B-- Guns Classed B MEXICAN HAT Tests Special TB tests are being planall school children in San Juan County on May 5. Dr. Robert Hansen, U. S. Public Health Service consultant, working with the State Health Department will conduct the testing and follow-u- p program, in cooperation with the Blanding Health Council. The project is intended to help control tuberculosis. TB struck 64 San Juan residents in a two-yea- r period from July 1954 to July 1956, according to figures released by the State Health Department. Tests on children and young adults will be made with tuberculin to discover who has been exposed to tuberculosis. This test does not prove that a person has the disease, but shows whether or not further tests are necessary. The testing procedure is a simple one. The doctor injects a drop of tuberculin between the two layers of skin on the forearm. In two days the results are read and interpreted by the doctor. Further examinations will be done on positive reactors to the tuberculin. As of May 5 th through May 10th has been set aside for "Girls Week" with a girls choice dance scheduled for Saturday night.
