Show Setting of the opening date for the fall pheasant hunt, license revocations, and other important department of fish and game pc icy matters were recently processed by the Utah Fish and Game Commission. The commission met for the annual spring quarterly sessions at department headquarters in Salt Lake City. Opening date for the pheasant and quail seasons was Saturday, November 10. Length of season, bag limits, and other regulations are not drawn up until field checks showing the spring hatch and summer survival are presented to the commission in late summer. The early opening date was set for the convenience of sportsmen in planning ahead for this hunt. Four persons had their hunting license privileges revoked for a period of five years when the record showed they were responsible for recent hunting season gun accidents. Utah law requires the commission to impose this penal ty whenever such an accident is the result of carelessness or for complete, accurate, and well kept records.
