The questionnaire is designed to alert all new hunting license applicants to the rules of safe gun handling as a step toward reducing gun accidents. It was suggested and approved by the Utah Wildlife Federation and member clubs throughout the state. Officers and big game committee members of the state organization have worked with the department during the past year m preparing the questionnaire for first use during 1956. The new ruling applies to all persons, both resident and nonresident, buying any of the several Utah hunting licenses for the first time. The largest group affected will June 1, 1956.
