Under auspices of the American Shorthorn Breeders' association and the Ogden livestock show, the first auction of thoroughbred Shorthorn bull and females was conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Coliseum yards. Art Trompson of Lincoln, Neb., was auctioneer, with Colonel E. O. Walters of Filer, Idaho, and H. L. Summers of Salmon, Idaho, assisting. The sale was supervised by F. W. Harding of Chicago, field executive for the American Shorthorn Breeders' association. Mr. Harding said that the sals was one of the most Important livestock events that has occurred In west In years. All of the animals offered over the block were of pedigreed strains, and represented some of the country's out standing Shorthorn herds.
