Elder Antone R. Ivans of Council Ponders 30. th First Council of Seventy April represented the General Auth rities of the Church at the Stake Quarterly Conference held here last Saturday and Sunday. Speakers for the session included besides Elder Ivans, Stake President Howard D. Knight, Elders Elwood Ben-o- n and Spenser Adams, both recently returned missionaries W. Clair Rowley, and Mrs. Ivans in the Sunday morning Session. In the afternoon George D. Grimshaw and Watson Adams of the Stake Presidency, Glen Halifrman, Bp. R. Taylor Miller, and J. Harold Mitchell spoke with Elder Ivans the concluding speaker for the meeting . The Parowan Stake Singing Mothers furnished the music for the conference. They were directed by Mrs. Shirlee Evans, Stake Relief Society Chorister, and Mrs. Annie Joy Jones. In the Sunday afternoon session, Melvin Orton was released as secretary of the Fourth Quorum of Elders and sustained as Second Councillor of the same Quorum. Others sustained were Val Hyatt Bentley as Second Coun cellor in the Stake YMMIA and Clayton Tullis as Sec. of the same organization Other meetings held during the conference were a priesthood leadership meeting and a special meeting for husbands and wives. Both of these sesions were held in the Firt-Seco- The school was conducted by officials of the Utah Assn. Officials, and was designed to bring county affi-ceup to date on current legislation passed by the last session of the Utah Legislature, and to air problems connected with county govern ment throughout the counties of the state. Prior to the school at Parowan, a similar school was held at Beaver, Fillmore and at Nephi. Before the tour is over, those in charge will have visited all the counties in the state. Those who conducted the school here included: Milton J. Hess, President of the Utah State Association and County Attorney of Davis County; Recreation rs Mrs Guen K. Hanney, of the association, G. A. Miss Emma Neil-soCounty Home Demon- Saturday evening , Mrs. Sarah Randall Farrow died at her home in Summit Tuesday after a brief illness. She was 72. She was born Jan. 11, 1885 at St George, a daughter of Joseph II. and Rebecea Ann Lewis Randall. She married John Farrow at Summit in November 1947. Mrs. Farraw was a Utah resident all her life, having lived in Provo as a child. She was self educated due to a hearing deficiency.
