Mathcson; Parowan Lady Dies In Honolulu Saturday Funeral services for Daniel Enoch Mathcson, 79, who died at his home in Cedar City Tuesday evening, will be held Saturday at 2 p m in the Cedar First Ward LDS Chapel. Death was attributed to natural causes Mr Mathcson. a native and for many years a resident of Parowan. had been in rather poor health for several years, but was bedfast only a couple of days prior to his passing He was born in Parowan May 14, 1874, a son of Alexander and Lydia Evans Mathcson. Incidentally he was the first child bom here after the one time establishment of the United Order and hence received his middle name cf Enoch. He grew up in this community receiving his education in the local schools. He was one of the pioneer mining men of the County having worked as foreman when the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company carried out its first operations in this area.
