Under the leadership of Scout masters, Frank Patten and John Manning, the new boys who were officially made Scouts were: Melvin Mitchell, Larry Mitchell, Fred BentDonald ley, Spencer Adams, Val Allen Morris, Haycock, Holyoak, Orson Orton, Elwood Benson and Ted Burton. The boys would like to invite their parents and all others of the Ward who are interested in scouting to meet with them next Tusday evening, Feb. 24th. The group will meet with the other M. I. A. members in the Chapel at 7:30 p. m. for the preliminary excercises, then will adjourn to its quarters in the Relief Hall immediately following where a special program will be given. Articles of Incorporation called for 10 board members who will have power to complete the organization and power to raise money to jnvestkgate all possible sources of electric power. After a complete survey they will choose the best source and concentrate their efforts on its development. Five board members were named from each of the two counties, one member to serve cfor three years, two for two years, and one for one year. Two members were elected from the county and one from each o the three geographic centers of Washington County, namely, En terprise, St. George, and East Washington County. LeRoy Cox of St. George, and Mayor Alvin Larson of Hurri cane were elected to represent the county at large. Arthur Bar locker will represent Enterprise, and serve two years: Mathew will Bentley represent St, George, and Anthony Isom, Hurwill seyve three ricane. Cox years and Mayor Larson two years. Board members chosen from Iron County were Hugh L. Ad ams, of Parowan, vice president; A. C. Hatch, of Parowan, director; Mayor Gronway Perry, of Cedar City, director; G. D. Glenna Holyoak Wins Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gurr just returned from a most enjoyable trip which took them from Ogden Utah where Mrs. Gurr and the children had been visiting for two weeks with her people, down the coast of California and back by way of the Southern route, Enroute, they stopped and visited with friends at San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Josq, and Hollywood before returning back through Southern Utah and on into Ogden to pick up the children. Mr. Neils J. Decker left last week for his home in Clearwater Calif, where he expects to remain for some time and find employment there. He has been in Parowan since last fall when he came because of the serious illness of his father, the late J. O. Deckey. His little daughter is remaining in Parowan with relatives. Jaycee Americanism Speech Contest Glenna Holyoak won a $45.00 Wrist Watch Wednesday afternoon by winning over two oLher contestants in the Jaycee Americanism Speech Contest. The three Contestants should he very highly commended on the fine speeches that were prepared on such a short notice. The Judges, Miss Anna Adams, R. L. Fenton and A. M. Marsden praised very highly the three contestants for the manor in which the speaches were prepared and delivered. The other two competing was Miss Marion Decker and Miss Maxine Dalton. The Watch was donated by Mr. Calvin Smith of the Time in Cedar City.
