P. Dailey was elected as chairman of this committee. The other members of the committee are F. W. Chappell, Alma Hague, II. F. McCune, Henry Adams, Jas. W. Pax-maand Chas. Sperry. It was resolved by the meeting, on motion of Jas. W. Paxman that the committee report today (Friday) through the columns of The Ensign and from the pulpit on Sunday next, after which meeting adjourned. Iaist Monday 'Probate Judge, Charles Foot, Selectman Booth and road supervisor Alex. Pyper, went as a committee into Tintic to investigate the advisability of opening up a road between here and the settlements in that properous min ing district. It is thought, and an assured fact that a good road through the mountains west will open up an immense amount of tiade between here and Tintic and in fact make Nephi the chief supply point in many articles of all the settlements of Tintic. The trade in lumber itself, to say nothing of the great number of other articles that would be hauled to and fro, will well pay the county lor the expense. The route first thought of was due west for a certain distance thenct) northwest passing Maple Springs and finally down Co-o- p Creek, hut this route the committee think is imparcticable as they believe that a better road at about the expense can be built. The com-mitt- e have again gone to further a route they prefer. investigate This route runs due west and down what is known as County Canyon. This canyon is very steep but by making a winding dugway.lull loads can he hauled both up and down it and the distance this way will be about the same as by the other route. Another advantage that this route has over the other is that it will open up a vast and almost amount ot firewood. These forests are1 untouched and as firewood is getting somewhat scarce, it will be a good thing for the Countv in general if this ro'Jis'tfpf.ned.
