John B. Wasden was born in Aslone, Yorkshire, England, May 12, 1S11, and wan the son of Thomas and Mary Wasdea. lie came to America in 1851, living in oincinnati until 1859 when he moved to Utah. He was one of the early settlers of Gunniscn, and took active part in assisting to quell tbe Indian disturbances which raged iu this vicinity during the sixties. In the year 1863 he was called to go to the Missouri river after leaving his home with four yoke of wild steeis. Twenty-sevechildren were born to him, twenty of which are living, and he has thirty-fiv- e grand obildren, who are also living.
