Show GUNNISON, UTAH, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER! 1, 1904. VOL. VI. President Roosevelt Given Unprecedented Majority. The election Tuesday passed off in Gunnison very quietly. The weather was hue and voters had pleasure in coining out as a consequence. Interest begun curly in the day and soon after noou people flocked to the polls pretty fastt e.o that before sundown neatly all those who had registered were polled. It took only a small effort from then to fetch in the remainderThere were a few who could not leave home on account of sickness. Distinct features that led to the heavy vote were vhe county seal question and the judicial issue. Some Democratic votes went to Roosevelt, who received a plurality of 1G0 over Parker. The vote for president 6tood : Roosevelt, 319 ; Parker , 159 ; Debs, 36. The counting was slow' owing to so much cutting and it was nearly 6 a. in. before the judges got through their work. Part of the American ticket had two or three votes in each district. The Socialist ticket received 30 votes for nearly every candidate, 10 in the first and 26 in the second district.
