Halliday May 18 A 24 year old male defendant was in court for an arraignment. All charges were disposed. Court ordered defendant to pay fine in full by July 20. Another review hearing scheduled for July 20. A 23 year old male defendant was in court and pled guilty to a third degree felony charge of incest. A hearing to show cause was scheduled for June 15. A 31 year old male defendant w'as in court for a review hearing on one class A misdemeanor charge of issuing bad check draftpresumption to which he had previously pled guilty. It w'as reported that loud music w'as coming from a car and disturbing the peace. A deputy responded and advised that he was unable to hear any music. He contacted the owner of the vehicle and advised him that if another complaint was made, he would be cited. May 19 An open window was reported at the Green River Library. Deputy was unable to shut it due to the screen. Dispatch attempted to contact the librarian, but w'as unable. A man reported that his son had run a tractor into a garage at the junior high. It was reported that a car had been driving past the reporting persons home at a high rate of speed. An officer responded and talked to the subject about the problem. An ambulance was requested for a male that was having a hard time breathing. The subject was transported to Castleview Hospital. A suspicious brief case was reported in a garbage can in Green River. A deputy responded and advised that everything was okay and there was nothing inside of the brief case. A deputy was requested to watch for a vehicle southbound from Hiawatha. Vehicle was involved in a traffic offense and a complaint was signed. The ve hicle was located and the drivers information was turned over to Carbon County. A deputy was requested to watch over an apartment to make sure that the tenants did not destroy the property before they moved out due to an eviction for A subject was reported as lying under a bush near some restrooms, possibly sleeping. UHP responded and reported that the person was riding his bicycle and had stopped to sleep. He will find another place to sleep for the night. A juvenile problem was reported. A citizen had chased some kids frorh a budding and requested that a deputy check and make sure everything was all right. A deputy responded and advised that everything appeared to be OK. It was reported that there were about 20 cows out. Supposed owners were contacted and advised that they would go and check. May 20 A gas skip w'as reported. The truck was located and the issue resolved. It was reported that a subject told two people that he was going to kill another person with a knife. An information report w'as taken. non-payme- Notice to the Citizens of Emery County The Emery County Board of Commissioners is seeking applications for one appointment to the Emery County Travel Bureau. The vacancy will fill a position that expires December 2005. It must be filled with a person living in the eastern side of the county. Any registeredqualified voter interested in serving on this board may obtain a form at the ClerkAuditors office during regular business hours. The volunteer form will need to be returned to the ClerkAuditors office, PO Box 907, Castle Dale, Utah 84513 by June 4, 2004 at the close of business. There were activities going on and the alarm had not been turned off all of the way and it reset. OK playing. A car was reported as driving all over the road. Deputy located the vehicle and advised that the driver was having problems talking on the cell phone and driving at the same time. May 21 It was reported that a female had parked her car and got out and almost fell. She was very unsteady on her feet. There was also a child in the backseat that was not in a car seat. A deputy located the woman at her home and called family services to the home. It was reported that someone had stolen a power box from Knack Shack. This book was written with younger children in mind. It gives rea- sons why hitting is harmful and unhealthy. The main themes of the book are that violence is never okay and every child is capable of choosing alternatives with loving actions. The book helps children learn and practice fun, positive and constructive things their hands can do. Made to read aloud, this book also includes a special section for adults with ideas for things to talk about and activities to do together.
