By GERI MORTENSEN, Huntington A few months ago had the telev Library ision on and heard the word library Immediately the report caught my eye and interest The reporter was tcllingof a place in our coun-tr- y where children had no access to books-a- t all. I felt sad because vv e are so blessed in our little county to hav e eight beautiful buildings stacked with so many delight-fu- l books lor children of all ages The report went on to explain that a police ollicer sent out a plea for help to acquire new and used books for these children. Inamat- ot a lew months the books startl'd to come and she the trunk ol her car to distribute them to her neighborhood friends She bad become a bookmobile. The excitement m the eyes of the children was amazing. They clutched their selections as i! they were made of gold. Each week she would make the trek to gather up the read stories and leave others in their place sure hope we in this county are using the facilities we have to bring this same excitement to our children. Unfortunately I know this is not always the case. The librarians in their respective libraries have also seen the thrill in patrons who have found the "perfect book and go out with the excitement of getting lost in the written word Come in. browse, and select a book.
