Those present at the meet-in- g were Major Jeff Horroek.s, eouneilmembers Riehard Murdoch. Freda Fillmore and Karen Nielsen. Jamie Jensen, clerk w as also on hand. After Councilman Murdoch led the group in the pledge of allegiance, Major Horroeks eomened a public hearing to hear comments from residents This hearing w as the second opportunity for residents of Cle eland to voice their opinions concerning the 11003-0- 4 Community Block Development Grant amended plan The planned use for the nearly S30.000 in funds is for the acquisition of safety equipment for the volunteer firefighters in Clev and equipment for the fire trucks. Horroeks asked for questions or comments and hearing none, he closed the hearing altcrvvhieh he convened the town council meeting. Minutes from the Feb. 13 meeting were read and approved vv ith no corrections The first item for consideration was the issuance of a building permit. A representative of the applicant was present to supply the plans for the home to be built. The council rev ievved the plans and considered the set back requirements. After consideration, the council approved the building permit A building permit for Mayor Horroeks was next on the agenda. Horroeks explained the purpose ol the building and the construction specifications. lTpon consideration and contingent on the application, the building permit will be issued Mayor Horroeks then explained to the council that he had attended the auction and acquired the piece of property discussed in a prior meeting. He requested that the council approve the reallocation of the funds to cover costs on the stipulation that vv hen the trailer is sold, the money vv ill be replaced. The council voted to move the funds from the sewer and water fund to the general fund to accommodate this purchase ith the stipulation that w hen the trailer is sold, the money will be put back into the vv aler and sewer fund. Larth Day Awards are presented to companies or indiv idu-a- ls who go beyond what is required by regulation in their concern and care for the environment. Fach nominee will take about 13 minutes to demonstrate to the board what has been accomplished to merit consideration for the award.
