It was Emery's fourth nonleague win of the year to give them a 3 record overall. 83-6- 4-- Emery plays three more games before getting into region action. The Spartans got offto a slow start as they only managed three field goals in the first eight minutes of play. Morgan finished the first period with a 22--7 lead. Emery seemed to turn things around in the second period when Nelson scored eight of his team high 18. Emery outscored Morgan 28-2-0 in the second period to cut the lead to seven going into the locker room. Emery seemed lethargic in the third quarter until Nelson went up for a rebound and was elbowed in the eye by teammate Clint Pitchforth. Nelson sat out the rest of the quarter with an e cut on his left eye. Coach Merrell decided against dressing out theseniors, giving the Junior Varsity and Sophomore team more playing time. The varsity game got off to a good start with a quick lay up off the tip.
