Emery Imoclis off Delta, 23 - 18, in battle of unbsatcns 8-- By LAYNE MILLER Progress editor The Delta Rabbits met the Grimm Reaper Friday night in Castle Dale. The representative of death came in the form of Spartan fullback Benny Grimm. Grimm killed Deltas hopes of becoming the region football champions and his performance made Emerys title hopes alvicmost assured in the 23-1- 8 tory. - Grimm tallied over 100 yards rushing against a good Delta defense, in the battle of two unbeaten (in region play) teams. The win was especially sweet for Emery head coach Jimmy Jones as he had a grim, record against Delta. Both teams moved the ball well in their first possessions of The Rabbits used an offense the entire game. Still in their own end of the field, Delta went for it on a fourth and two and was successful as time ran out in the first quarter. Delta took the kickoff and using a counter play, ran it 39 yards to the end zone for a touch down. The score consumed only five plays and went 6, 70 yards. The two-poi- at- nt tempt was again no good, as the Emery defense sacked quarterback Steel, to make it 2 with 1:16 left in the half. 13-1- 8-- 3, 8-- 0. 6-- 2, 6--2. 6--2, I I I ROQGO rGSUltS By AMY FOX Team reporter The Emery High Rodeo Tearn results for Sept. 5 to 20 are as follows: Bingham Rodeo, Sept. 5 and 6 Kendra Gunter, first place, breakaway; Amy Fox, fourth place, breakaway; Kendra Gunter, fourth place, goat ty-i-n ing; Angie Gilbert, fifth place, goat tying, and Kendra Gunter, fourth place, barrels, Oakers Rodeo, Sept. 12 and 13 Angie Gilbert, 11th place, barrels; Kendra Gunter, fourth place, goat tying; Angie Gilbert, 10th place, goat tying; Kendra Gunter, first place, breakaway; and Brock Truman with his partner, Travis Soffell, third place, team roping.
