Show 8A Emery County Progress Tuesday, October 31, 1995 mock . . . tragedy A A sobering assembly at Emery High School last Wednesday during Ribbon Week gave students a realistic look at what the scene of a fatal auto accident would be like. County personnel, EMTs and firemen joined with the Emery High Peer Helpers in staging the event. The accident included a number of injuries, two fatalities, a drunk driver and motorists who stopped to assist. Photos by Larry Davis of realistic proportions Jeremy Tannahill, an Emery High senior who played the role of the drunk driver, is questioned after the mock accid6nt by Deputy Gayle Jensen. Jeremy was taken through the field sobriety testing and arrest procedures. Castle Dale firemen use the Jaws of Life to pry open the door of one of the vehicles included in the accident. In the scenario, this vehicle was full of teenagers when driver was killed. it hit the other vehicle. The Nearly 800 students from Emery packed the stands at the football the presentation. Although it was only staged, it was real enough to make a powerful point about drinking and driving, wearing seatbelts and being an attentive driver. field to witness Wear seatbelts .
