He was born June 17, 1903 in Huntington, the son of John Samuel and Emma Christina Lott Knight. A veteran of World War II, he was past commander of the Huntington Post of the American Legion. Survivors include brothers and sisters, Jesse, Price; Winifred Warren, Carbonville; Hyrum, Cleveland; Christina Nielsen, Salt Lake City; William Lott, Layton; and Evely K. Fish, Clearfield. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Huntington IDS Ward Chapel where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Cleveland City Ceme.tery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary. PROVO Joseph Bussio, 89, Provo, died here April 3, 1982 of natural causes. He was born Nov. 12, 1892 in Turin, Italy, to Bernardo and Rocci Margherita Bussio. He married Teresa Jean Alovisio Jan. 31, 1920 in Turin, Italy. She survives. Educated in Italy, he came to the United States in 1922. He worked in Carbon County coal mines for five years before moving to Provo in 1927. He was born Aug. 29, 1920 in Sunnyside, Utah, son of Tony and Magdalena Blatnik Skriner. He married Viola Losik July 19, 1947 in Helper. She survives. A resident of Carbon County since birth, he was superintendent of Price River Coal Co.s No. 5 mine at the time of his death. He was president of the Spring Glen Canal Co. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in African, Sicilian and European theaters. He was a member of Joppa Lodge No. 26, F&AM, El Kalah Temple, Eastern Utah Shrine, Scottish Rite and other Masonic affiliations. He was a member of Price Elks Lodge No. 1550. In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter, Toni Stringham, Salt Lake City; one brother, Henry, Spring Glen; three sisters, Mrs. Louis (Zelphea) Vuksinick and Mrs. Bill (Dolly) Perri, both of Spring Glen, and Mrs. Milan (Antonia) Corak, Salt Lake City; and a community of friends. A son, Joe, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Price Masonic Temple. The family will be at the Masonic Temple one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. I PRESCOTT, Ariz. Arthur Bill Birch, 52, Huntington, died here April 11, 1982. He was born March 16, 1930 to LaVar E. and Bliss Odessia Gage Birch. He married Ermia Cunningham Oct. 1, 1949. She survives. He owned and operated Birch Mining and Drilling Co. and attended schools in Price. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Gary, Allan and Jerry, all of Huntington; six daughters, Mrs. Blair (Terri) Cook, Huntington, Mrs. Keith (Gloria) Allred, Cleveland, Mrs. Gerald (Debra) Bell, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Marc (Linda) Stevens, Huntington, Mrs. Pete (Evon) Peterson, Richfield, and Mrs. David (Veronica) Amies, Huntington; father, LaVar, Price; one brother, Marion Birch, Moab; three sisters, Mrs. Betty Davis, Orem, Mrs. Terry (Jo Ann) Brown, Price, and Mrs. Arland (Norma) Sherman, Ogden; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry, and his mother. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Mitchell Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday and prior to services Friday. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Price City Cemetery. |
