Show 4A Emery County Progress Wednesday, November 5, 1980 mery County You did it; involved stay You did it! You went out and voted for the candidate of your choice. You voted for the initiatives and propositions that affect our state. You voted for local leaders, state leaders and national representatives. Oh how proud you should be. You did something that many people In the world don't get to do. You participated in one of the freedoms that make this country strong. Now comes the work I You have elected officials that will lead us for the next two to four years. You need to support them. Just as it is important for them to listen, to feel the pulse of the electorate, it is your responsibility to tell them what is on your mind. You need to tell the school board what you feel should be done to maintain a quality education. You should tell the county commission where you feel the county money should be spent. You should write letters to your congressman, senator, governor, state senator and representative and other officers. Even if the candidate you voted for didn't win, you need to get involved. You need to be informed. You need to get your voice heard. The government is required to let you know when the are having meetings and when public hearings are being held. You need to attend. The county commissioners will soon be setting their new budget. Watch out for information and attend the meetings so you know where your tax dollars are being spent. by jim olsen Bear Editor, Dear Sir, Most of the time we realize we are treated as a stepchild or a poor relation.
