Mrs. Austin was a former resident of Ferron, Utah, active in the local and state Republican Party and garden clubs. Harvey D. Austin, 82, a former resident of Ferron, died at a San Diego Cal. hospital Wednesday, July 9, 1980. Austin was born on May 8, 1898. He was the son of Wilbur and Nellie Austin. He married Aura Hills in 1937. They moved from Wisconsin to Ferron in 1938 and for many years operated the Hills Service Garage. In his retirement he became a licensed bee keeper, marketing honey in Carbon, Emery and Sanpete counties. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in agriculture and animal husbandry, is a member of the National Riflemans Association and the Masonic Lodge in Wisconsin. His hobby was raising and cross polinating gladiolas and won several first place awards in Wisconsin and Utah State Fairs.
