Show Thursday, Nov. 8, Emery County Progress 2A 1979 Births Castle Dale police chief lists city crime statistics With some people questioning what size is required of the Castle Dale Police Department, Chief Terry Lofthouse released this week statistics on the amount of crime in the town. Castle Dale has experienced a 247 percent growth since 1970, Lofthouse said, and with this comes an increase in crime. But too many residents do not know the extent of the crime and the necessity of police protection today. Following is a list of major crimes reported, the number of incidents in 1978, and the number far in so 1979: Assault, 6, 10. Thefts, 46, 31. Burglary, 8, 7. Auto Burglary, 1, 4. Bad checks, 60, 73.
