Show The Stake W.M.I.A. is having a meeting in the form of a supper Friday, March 23 (tonight) in the West Jordan Stake House for all bishoprics and their wives to help create enthusiasm and encouragement, encourage-ment, through the bishoprics for the girls of mutual age in West Jordan Jor-dan Stake, to take advantage of the girls camp held at Woodland each summer. West Jordan Stake "Dear To My Heart" night for MiaMaida and their mother for all wards in the stake was held Tuesday night art the West Jordan Stake House under direction of Mrs. Grace Paulson, stake Mia-Maid Mia-Maid leader. Mrs. Shirley Collins of Salt Lake City was guest speaker. Light refreshments were served at the close of the evening. A very good attendance was reported. West Jordan's school crossing traffic officer, Hon Wixom, is feeling feel-ing much better now and has again resumed his duty directing traffic on the elementary school corner. Recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Dimond were Mr. and Mrs. James Crellin and Mrs. Ruby Crellin Crel-lin of Copperton, Mrs. Shirley Beck-stead Beck-stead and daughter, Kriaty of Mid-vale Mid-vale and Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Beck-stead Beck-stead of Sandy. Recently obtaining a marriage license .in Salt Lake were Michael Barney Lundquist, 17, West Jordan, and Judy Ann Eljondo, 16, Sandy. Mrs. Lawrence Dahl, former West Jordan resident, now of Boise, Idaho, i visiting relatives and frienda in West Jordan and here to attend the marriage of her niece, Margaret Hunter. Ten scouts of West Jordan 4th Ward Troop 620 went swimming Tuesday night at West Jordan Jr. High pool. They were accompanied by their scoutmaster Leland Halver-on. Halver-on. A Scout Court of Honor was held Thursday evening, March 22, at West Jordan Stake House at 7:30 p.m. All scouts, scouters and parents par-ents were invited. Scout awards were given and 19 merit badges were awarded scouts of Troop 620. Roger Hatfield suffered a bad cut on his arm in an accident at his place of employment Monday. Eleven stitches were required to close the wound. Frank Dimond is home from Snow College to have a knee operation. oper-ation. He was operated on this week and is recuperating in Holy Cross Hospital. Hi leg will be in cast for six weeks. Kenneth Dimond has also been home from Snow College but plans to return at the beginning of the spring quarter. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Coster and family left Tuesday morning for Pocatello, Idaho, due to the sudden sud-den death of Mr. Coster' father Monday night, March 19. Mr. and Mrs. T. Earl Kelly attended at-tended a missionary farewell at American Fork Sunday. Mrs. John Adamek entertained her pinochle club at her home Monday Mon-day night. Prizes at cards were won by Mrs. Art Fike, first; Mrs. J. W. Johnson, second; Mrs. George Dahl-strpm, Dahl-strpm, consolation, and Miss Kay Braun, traveling. Score pads were given as favors. Late refreshments were served by the hostess to nine. Brad Chapman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rod Chapman, who underwent eye surgery at St, Mark's Hospital last Friday, is reported improving satisfactorily at his home. Saturday evening visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Williamson Wil-liamson were Mrs. Merrilyn Daley and Suaan Bolton of Copperton. Mr. and Mrs. T. Earl Kelly and son, Steven, went to s-e Genevieve when appearing at the Terrace Ballroom Ball-room recently. Bert Williamson spent last week end in Vernal visiting his grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Clace Downard. Mrs. Stan Kouris and son, Mark, left SunJay to return home to Rock Springs, Wyo., after spending four days visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Adondakis and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. James Varanakis and family entertained at a family dinner last Sunday' honoring their son, George, who is leaving on March 25 for the army. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Adondakis Adon-dakis end sons, Mike end John, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Macris and children, Georgette, Michael and Gresorv. were guest of Ford Motor Company Com-pany at banquet held in the Empire Em-pire Room of Hotel Utah Saturday night, March 1 7. The banquet wa in honor of the Ford salesmen who qualified for the 300-500 Club during dur-ing 1961. Each salesman was given a Urge set of T.V. trays with pictures pic-tures of all the model of Ford cars and truck manufactured from 1 903 to 1962 on each tray with the 300-500 300-500 Club pin emblem in the center of the tray. Each salesman is given a 300-500 Club pin the firet year he becomes a member of the club, and each year thereafter that he qualifies, -a diamond i added to hi pin. Mr. Butterfield ha one diamond dia-mond now on hia pin. Every lady at the banquet wa given a lovely carnation corsage tinted green, in keeping with the St. Patrick' day theme. A magician act and dancing by Wally William Orchestra were also enjoyed by the group. One hundred sixty five Ford salesmen qualified for this club in 1961 in this intermountain area. West Jordan Fourth Ward held their monthly ward dinner last Monday night, March 19, under direction di-rection of the deacons and teacher quorum and their advisors. Creamed Cream-ed chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, salad and strawberry shortcake was served to approximately 125 members. mem-bers. The Primary also made $ I 8.00 on a cake sale held the same night. Mr. and Mrs. T. Earl Kelly in company with three couples from Salt l-ake City enjoyed a dancing Farty at the Terrace Ballroom last riday night. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Spratling attended a farewell testimonial at Riverton First-Third Ward last Sunday honoring Lynn Hamilton who is leaving on an LDS Mission to Florida. Eileen Bar ben, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Barben, was honored hon-ored with a family roller skating party last Saturday at the S & M Skating Rink in honor of her I Ith birthday. Others attending were her sisters, Janice and Bonnie who came from BYU, Mrs. Lavina Nielson of Hunter and Mr. and Mrs. Norman LeBaron and family of Sandy. A family dinner was held later at the Barben home. Mrs. Norma Setterberg, Alta View Drive, was among 20 students graduating Friday evening from the Salt Lake Trade Technical Institute Insti-tute who have completed a full year's course in practical nursing. The graduation ceremonies were held in the Clayton Jr. High School, 1471 18th East, Salt Lake City. Training included 50 weeks of extensive ex-tensive class work and clinical experience ex-perience at the training institute, the LDS Hospital, LDS Primary Children's Hospital, Salt Lake Mrs. Stan Kouris and son, Mark, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Varanakis Varan-akis and son, James, of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. T. Earl Kelly and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Beers recently attended a AAU basketball game at the Deseret Gym in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. George Adondakis and family hoeted a dinner party at their home last night, Thursday, for George Varanakis who is leaving leav-ing soon to go in the army. David Erickson was home last week end from Dixie College at St. George, to visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. -Eric Erickson. Mr. and Mrs. Ross W. Butterfield County Hospital, St. Mark Hospital, Hos-pital, the Orthopedic and Fracture Clinic, Neighborhood House and Fairmont School. '1760 hours of classwork and clinical experience was completed by each student in order to qualify for their nursing certificate. The graduates still have to pass a state examination in order to become a licensed practical nurse. Dr. Victor Kassel, geriatrician, geriatric-ian, addressed the group, Mrs. Max-ine Max-ine Cope, registered nurse and director di-rector of practical nursing, presented present-ed the graduates and Mrs. Ona Ivie Blakemore R.N. Utah State Nursing Education consultant presented . the certificates. Mrs. Setterberg started the course March 20th a year ago and was among 40 students to begin the course. Her state board examination exam-ination is expected to be taken on April 26. Mrs. Setterberg, the former for-mer Norma Beckstead of South Jordan, Jor-dan, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beckstead and a niece of Mrs. Birdie May Webb of West Jordan. Jor-dan.
