Whereas, we live in a society regulated by rules and laws so constituted to provide ttie most good for the most people, and; whereas, we live in a society which places a high premium on individuality and the ability to reason, and; whereas, it is contingent that Emery County High school set up standards of dress and conduct allowing its students the opiiortunity to exercise the practice of compliance for the common good while exercising their rights as individuals, the following standards are adopted; STANDARDS OF DRE1SS AND PERSONAL HYGEINL: A. Students are expected to women students, will lie clean and neatly groomed, it will be styled or coiffured in such a manner that it does not fall or hang in the students face. It should present a styled appearance at all times. Acceiitable dress for men students includes; dress shirts (shirts with tails) should be tucked inside the trousers at the belt; sport shirts (shirts without tails) may be worn out side the trousers; knit shills with sleeves should be worn according to cut; levis areacc-eitab- le wear for men students as well as other brand name slacks; shoes and stockings are required at all times. All clothing should be clean and neatly worn. L). Unacceptable wear for men students includes; tank tops and sleeveless knit shirts which expose the underarms; T- - shirts and sweat shirts with undesirable or repugnant letters, slogans or pictures: slacks which are deliberately tattered, tom; footwear which damages floors is prohibited see- - through clothing is not permissible; sweat shirts and are permissible only in gym class. Don Larsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. jay L. Larsen, 5735 so 4060 West, received his award from Bishop Frank Brown of the 7th ward. Don was an honor student at Dress Code special care. According to president Ruby Peterson there are still quite a number of eligible ladles in Ferron that are not taking the advantage of this opportunity. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Rasmussen enjoyed a recent visit In Alpine at the home of her brother Elray Wild. Enroute home they visited with friends and relatives in American Fork. -The special Interest of Price Utah stake, North Price Utah stake and Castle Dale Utah Stake enjoyed a picnic at the San Rafael swlnglngbrld-g- e on Sat. MarkNelson of Castle Dale acted as host to the affair. The time was spent in playing soft ball, volley ball, and horse shoes. There were about 80 in attendence that enjoyed a nice picnic. Glenda Worthen 14 Here visiting the Hugh Moffits during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Moffitt. e. He is the son of Hugh and Mar-luri- is a graduate of Emery County high, and has attended Business College and is well qualified for the position. She replaces Mrs. Sharon Robinson who resigned. On the 9th of May members of the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation will meet with the town council to go over plans for the new city lark. They have donated $100,000.00 toward this new park and if everything is okay will begin immediately according to Mayor Larsen. -- At the regular council meetwas ing tenative approval granted to Clyde Conover for a 50 unit trailer park construction. Jim Brock also received the same go ahead on a 20 unit trailer park he wishes to build. According to Mayor Larsen bids for the installation of the new sewer will be opened on May 22nd and plans for this project to be completed this Tri-sta- summer. There are 92 old junk cars that have been collected at or nearthe Gail Rasmussen place just waiting to be crushed and hauled away. This will certainly help to beautify Ferron. A special thanks to Mrs. Rasmussen for the many faithful years she served Ferron. Under her leadership Ferron received recog- her with surprize. Her daughters, Mrs. Linda Noyes, Mrs. Maurene McArthur, and Marie Lemon had cooked a delicious turkey dinner for their mothers birthday.
