Show 00 (MaDEB ffl ffiECCfllE) r Veltri Drug in Helper will be open Mutual Furniture Chucks Pharmacy Vogue yp&IL l I ! i by Leona Murray, I am ever so sorry that 1 missed the Jacksons and sitteruds trailer courts last week. The Jacksons, Judy and Paul sr. have five children. They are Paul Jr., age 9, Jada, age 8, Clinton age 3, and Kendall age 2 and jay Lynn age five months. Quite a family I'd say. They are doing a very good job of trying to raise these children in a trailer. Paul sr. is a sheet metal worker at the Plant. His hobbies are all sports that take in the great out doors. Judy is a beautifican, although with all the care the children require she has little time for her talent. Shes lucky if she gets her own done. Their oldest son Paul jr. is very interested in the 4- -h club. I know very little of this, if anything at all.soldid some footwork, asked some questions around Huntington and found just the right person to school Paul and myself. He is Kim Earl, Kim has promised me an interveiw and literature on the subject which I shall pass on to help Paul jr. I guess all you gals have wondered what happened to your door bells this last week, I am just now getting around to the other cburts. So it wont be long. While Im at it, I may as well tell you that I did have a very good excuse! My pet tea cup poodle whose name is Thibodaux, ( small town in Louisiana) nicknamed Tippy. Has had quite a time of it. He contacted canine Hepatitis, but with the good care and knowledge of Dr, Driggs, Tippy is now out of the woods and on the way to complete recovery. My special public thanks goes out to Dr.D-rigand his assistant for saving my little dogs life. So now Im on my way down the main street of Huntington to visit the parks. My first stop to visit the cunha Court, where I met and visited with the Howards, Connie and Chick. They have two sons, Clifford and Calvin. Both boys are studying the profession of their father. Chick is a fireman for the Electricans at the Plant for jelco. Chick plays the guitar for pass time and is an avid outdoor sportsman. They have a fine big boat and all the equipment for all those delightful summer oulngs. Now for Connie! She is not only a very attractive young woman but talented as well. She really has a lot going for her. she dresses very chic and she makes all her own clothes. She is now finishing up a suit for Chick, she is taking an advanced course in sewing, at Fun Fabrics , and is being instructed by Hazel. The Howards have two pets, a brown poodle named coffee, and a beautiful black cat named Ebony. ze of canyons; no way up to cross the ridges. Walked ten miles to progress ten. At night he pitched a nylon pup tent, crawled into a half sleeping bag and dreamed weird dreams. For a time he was lost. Another successful adventure for Jim. Last summer he crossed the Great Salt Lake Desert alone at night. Jim leaves this week for his home at Tacoma, Washington. He is enrolling at BYU for graduate work after the first of the year. When Electric Lake is filled with water, ten old coke ovens will be inundated. The coke ovens in Coal Canyon, northeast of Huntington canyon, are close to the old mining town of connelsville. Connelsville was first opened in the early days of 1870 by the father of the late George B. Jackson, superintendent of Independent Coal and coke at Kenilworth for many years. George remembered spending a summer in Connelsville with his family when te mine was first opened. The coke ovens are probably used to coke coal for forging and smelting. Thomas McElprang is now on his way to recovery. He has discarded his crutches. As you may remember Thomas accidently shot himself in the leg during the deer hunt. Also most crafts at the Power Plant will have a four day holiday for the Thanksgiving holiday. This will give the men a chance to spend the day with their families if they live out of Huntington. I assume everyone living in the mobile homes had a very nice Thanksgiving! Anyway this was my wish for them! I chanced to visit the scotts of Blacks Trailer Park, where there was really a festive time going on! Linda and Gene were entertairtlng eight guests from out of town. They were; Dr, Louise Scott of Washington, Utah; Mrs. Carol Christiansen of Glendale, Calif., Carols son Neal. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Scott and their three children, Eileen, Danny and Angeleen.
