I major conference on birds of prey held In Fort Collins, Colorado, was attended by personnel from the Division of Wildlife Resources, B.Y.U. and Utah state liniv. Basic discussion developed around status of various sierles of birds Of prey; management techniques and radio telemetry as used In raptor study. Rehabilitation and release of Injured rajtors was also deliberated. The conference revealed that the imputation status of most birds of prey In the western United states looks favorable, Including the much publicized golden eagle. Of major concern, however, is the Laboratory of Ornithology, told the conference there Is only one known breeding pair of Peregrines found In the United States and southern Canada east of the Rocky Mountains and soth of the boreal forest. Mrs. Zella Anderson is in the Carbon hospital recovering from surgery, which she had performed last Thursday. A correction on last weeks news Lynn and calleens new arrival in Germany is a boy. Maude Franklin was home for a visit for a few days, she stayed three days with Ervin and Leona Franklin, then went to Huntington to Azelias. Their dream is to move back here but Bill isnt able to yet. Mr. and Mrs. Hans Miller are going to rd put a Boise Cascade home up between Larsens and Glen Hansens. A group of ladies of Ferron will attend an upholstery class in th cultural Hall the week of April 8th. Mrs. Janet Stevens will be in charge of the affair, it will be cosponsored by the Ferron Relief society and the Extension service. Mrs. Wanda Douglas will be tire instructor. Enjoying the week end with the Darryl Petersons was their son jim from Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Clive Worthen and Elizabeth Ann spent the week end in Cedar City and in st. George with their children. - Miss Harriet Albrecht and Miss Christine Jensen from snow College visited with the Keith Albrechts and tlie Max Jensen families during the week. The annual Primary program presented by all the children and their teachers will be presented Sunday evening at 7 p.m. The public especially parents, are invited to come and see their children perform. A week end visitor in Ferron was Miss Mary K. Davis, she was a guest at the home of Mrs. Fern Christensen. The last picture show to be presented this spring will be Friday April 6th at 7;30 P.m., "The Great Locomotive chase. Those in charge of this affair promise that the shows will start again in the early fall and they have some very good family pictures on the agenda. Jack and Louise Funk were delighted to havetheirson John home for the week end. Judy and Jim Mortan from Roosevelt spent the week end with Judys parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelvin Berensen. - Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pace and family were visitors in Utah valley recently. M rs. Gayland Dugmore was baptized Saturday night and confirmed in sacrament Meeting Sunday by his father Gale Dugmore. A large group of ladies enjoyed Relief Society Wednesday evening, a baby quilt was tied; a yeast demonstration was presented by Mrs. Leola Jensen and lunch was served following the lesson presented by Mrs. Arlene Lemon. Its that time of the year to clean out the attic or closet, or what have you and give all usable clothing, etc., to the Deseret Industries. Anythingthat is usable can be brought to the church house during the month of April. An Easter program is being prepared by the Sunday school officers and personnel to be presented on the 22nd of April and that evening at 7 p.m. The Ward choir will present a special Easter program. The public is invited to attend.
