Of the nineteen, one, Ruth M. Nelson, is participating in the program from the Emery County area. The participants are being oriented in the methods necessary to diagnose, and to prescribe remediation for children having learning disabilities. Students will be tested in the workshop by these participants and remediation methods will be recommended to parents and teachen of those found to have difficulties. 8 The workshop is being by the Southeastern Education Service Center wMch includes Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan County School Districts. Mrs. Florence Magleby, a Specialist in remedial programs from the Utah State Board of Education, is directing the program. Other participants in the planning are Dr. Ben Biuse and Dr. Jay Donaldson, of the Utah State Board of Education; Orson W. Peterson, superintendent of the Emery County School District;Dan Wells, Special Education Specialist and Robert N. Hanson, Ed. D., Director of the Southeastern Education Service Center. Open 6 A.M.
