A half mile of Posse thanked for assistance The following letter was received by the Emery County Jeep Patrol: June 27, 1969 Emery Co. Your willingness to help made our job much easier than it night have been without you It is gratifying to know that people will give of their time, their talents and their money to out when emergencies help arise. As you know, this search operation developed into a long and extremely difficult situation. The tragedy of Richards death was certainly a blow to ail of us, as we had become acquainted with so many of his friends and family members. Each of you contributed greatly to the search by diligently covering the assigned area and then moving on to another until his body was found. H ar 29 There are a great number of general rules to follow on how to deal with an alcoholic. It makes no difference whether the person is closely related (wife, husband, mother, father, sister, brother, son or daughter) or just a (cousin or etc.) employer, employee, friend or a first clergyman, the great rule is to inform yourself. One of the best sources of information we have in Emery County are the rehabilitation meetings on Thursdays. Outsiders with an honest interest or concern are welcome. These interested persons can benefit greatly not only from the things they learn blit from the support they gain in handling their problem. The second rule is developing an attitude in keeping with the facts you have learned. Lip service to the idea of alcoholism is a disease is not enough. We must act as we believe this and display at all times the attitude which bears out this belief.
