How about a trip to the Worlds largest Dinosaur Quarry! Emery County residents are reminded that the Cleveland-Lloy- d Dinosaur Quarry is located just a short distance from Cleveland and is well worth your time to visit the site. This quarry is a National Landmark and could possibly be the most popular park in the United States if it develops like the plans call for. The visitors center at the quarry needs a head count of 10,000 peolple this summer in order for plans of new buildings to be put into effect To date, about 15 the number of visitors needed at the site have shown Future plans call for paved roads leading to the quarry oft and larger buildings to be built within the area. These plans will not be put ito effect unless the present site is used by the required number of visitors this summer. A new hole has been opened just north of the visit iDiriry for protection NUMBER 28 Foiling four of visitors Recreation rules approved by the Secretary of Agriculture are designed to control actions that cause unreasonable disturbance for National Forest visitors. These controls concern sanitation within recreation dzeas, g public conduct, devices (from radios to and fire equipment), control. Dogs, cats, and other pets must be kept caged or on leash. Motor vehicles either cars or motorbikes are restricted to areas provided for their.ntry, exit, or parking. Camping equipment must be occupied the first night after it has been set and not left unattended for more than 24 hours afterward. The regulations also provide for establishing limits of stay in camp grounds. The regulations are in effect an all developed recreation sites in the Manti-LaSNational Forsaid Forest Supervisor est, Robert Terrill. A copy of the regulations is posted at all recreation site entrances and a Recreation Rules booklet is available at any Forest Service office. Until the last 3 or 4 years, little need for recreation area regulations was seen. But with the rapid increase in use and public demand, that picture has changed. Supervisor Terrill reports that in Joes Valley Campground a restricted length of stay has been estblished to assure max-muavailability of the desirable sites to all users. The length of stay is restricted to 9 days during the period May 15 to October 1. Additional camping units are planned, but t will be some time before they are constructed. motor-drive- There are picnic tables and drinking water at the site plus many other things to see and do. If you have some free time, why dont you plan on spending it at the Cleveland-Lloy- d Dinosaur Quarry and lets help build it into what it is the Worlds Largest. Make several trips. Every time someone visits you take them to see the Cleveland-Lloy- d Dinosaur Quarry, located right here in Emery County. 1!KJ Range tour planned July noise-makin- ors center .and a large number of bones are shown in their natural environment. The authoritative report of the Advisory Committee to the U. S. Surgeon General declared it s established that male cigarette smokers have a. higher death rate from coronary artery disease than males. There is as yet little definitive understanding as to how cigar ette smoking affects the heart detrimentally. The tip of g importance to all cigarette smokers is that men who quit are found o have less risk, approaching the status of those who never smoke. 18-1- Recretionists planning to use the $7 Golden Eagle Passport should buy their permit before leaving on a trip. These annual permits are available through the Forest Service at the Ranger Offices in Manti, Ephraim, Mt. Pleasant, Castle Dale, Ferron, Moab, and Monticello, Utah and the Supervisors office in Price. Those wishing to buy the $1 daily permit will find it available on a basis at designated recreation sites. At these pay campgrounds the $1 daily permit will be obtained through a envelope instrucsystem. tions will be posted at each charge campground telling the user how to pay this daily fee or validate his annual Golden Eagle Passport. The system is the only method whereby a visitor may purchase the $1 daily permit.
