Ralph and Velda Jnsen and families and Dave Peterson were special guests. Nola Stilson and Fern Jewkes were in charge of this years observanc. Sunday visitors at the Fred Larsen home were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Collins of Price, and Mrs. Larsens nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Hunten, Standardville. Eugene Johansen entered die B Y U Monday morning where he will attend a two week debate clinic. Also attending the clinic are four students from Emery County high school, Dana Larsen, Cleveland; Carolee Larsen and Patricia Kinder, Huntington; and Lorraine Humphrey, Orangeville. The four girls are living together on the BYU campus. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Lucas and daughter, Clearfield, were overnight guests Saturday at the home of Howards sister, Margaret Magnuson, and family. Jennie and Bob Judd of Price and their daughter, Glenda Sandaval of Sacramento, Calif, visited Sunday at the home of Jennies sister. Rose and Theo Ungerman. Saturday they all toured some of our desert country through Green River, rlanksville, Capitol Reef, where they found the visiting center very interesting. They came home by way of Salina Canyon. Etta and Elwin Ralphs of Orangevale, Calif, spent a weeks vacation in Utah. They attended the Justis Wellington Seely reunion in Ogden, and the wedding and reception here for Ettas brother Franks youngest son. They visited here and were house guests at the home of Ettas sister, Dora Otterstrom, and son Craig, and Elwins sister, Mrs Neva Jensen. They visited the Ralphs in Ferron, including Leon and Surelda at the rest home. Charles and Frona Johnson of Modesto, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs Warren Larsen, Berkeley, Calif.; and Mrs Chloie Cook, Washington, D. C. were weekend house guests at the home of Mrs Neva Jensen. They were in Utah to attend the James C. Petersen family reunion in Salt Lake City. All members of the late Andrew and Sephroni (Petersen) Larsen family and visited Mrs Jensen enroute. Tammi Baldwin, 9 year old daughter of Neldonna and Wallace Baldwin, Salt Lake, underwent surgery for appendicitis at the Cottonwood hospital Friday and is recovering nicely. Dr. and Mrs. Don Chamberlain and five children, Helper, visited Sunday at the home of Mrs. Chamberlains mother, Mrs Leah Christensen, and attended Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. Feno and Evelyn Huntington received word that their sn Mack at Fort Dix, N. J. has been appointed a platoon leader. Also his September 30 day furlough has been canceled with the exception of three days. Evelyn and Feno Huntington attended open house in Huntington Saturday evening at the home of Evelyns sister, Lyle and Errol Litster, in honor of their son and wife Allen and Jan, and baby, who left Tuesday morning for Peru, South America where Allen will serve as mission president. A native of Grantsville Mr. Hunter is a veteran with UP&L haying joined the firm as a cadet in 1937 following his graduation in electrical engineering from the University of Utah. At present Mr. Hunter is and assistant general manager of UP&L as well as a member of the board of directors. He has served in varying engineering, sales and administrative capacities with the company. Mr Hunter also is a graduate of the University of Michigan utility executive school. He is a registered professional engineer, a director of the Utah Manufacturers Association and this years general chairman of the Greater Salt Lake area United Fund campaign.
