Whew! What a weekend! Started last Thursday morning. About 9 a.m. we started getting phone calls from county people about, an editorial that had appeared in the Price paper. Throughout the day Thursday, and also Friday, the calls continued (couldnt get a thing done). Interspersed between the calls from county people, were calls from Price merchants and from the Price Chamber of Commerce apologizing fer the article, and pointing out that it was none of ther doing (as attributed by published statements in this weeks paper). Friday afternoon, took wife to hospital. It was nice and quiet there. No phones. Jint a nice quiet, enjoyable evening. Next morning at 7:30, she went nto surgery for a caesarean section. It was a bouncing baby girl (see note page 6), . t Saturday afternoon, back to two took calls the phone Sunday, young ones to grandmas in Murray. Monday, made weekly contacts in Price, and consequently went through the whole thing again (about twenty times). Anyway, we would like to say that we do apprecate the support that we receive from the people of Emery county, as well as from Price merchants. Were it not for the support of these two groups, the paper could not exist. We hope the people of Emery county will continue to support these who support us. Donkey, Shetland Adult classes County residents were minded this week that adult education classes will begin at the new high school next Monday, November 19. As now scheduled, the classes will be held once each week, beginning at 6 pan. They will probably be held on Monday eveimgs, unless those registering and those who will be doing the instructing can arrive on a more suitable evening. It will be necessary for all casses to be held the same evening, since arrangements have been made for a bus from each end of the county to offer transportation for those desring this service. re- nIy parents day-lon- A rare eddity was registered in Huntington last week, with the birth of a colt with a donkey for a mother, and a Shetland pony for a father. The colt, called Hinny, was n born last Thursday at the McElprang farm. It has bay and white spots like its father, but has elongated ears like the m ether. This is the fourth offspring for tht donkey mother. All of the others were grey donkeys. Owners of the unusual animal report that more than 100 persons have called to see the rarity. Some school classes have also come to look it over. The records show that no statement has ever been issued against these organizations at any of the Chamber meetings. It is a proven fact that the Price merchants need the Emery County retail buyers and the Chamber of Commerce is using every and any gimmick they can find to boost the economy and buying power of this area. Needless to say any good will intentions towards this purpose has been seriously hampered by ths editorial Therefore, I am asking you as a Price merchant and as a member of the Price Chamber of Commerce to retract the statements in the editorial which mply that the Price Chamber of Commerce exercises any type of stand against the Emery County people, that it does not need the Emery County business and that it believes the Emery County people are using any form of coercion on the Price merchants.
