They also planned to visit Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and the show "Queen For a Day. Thirty seven passengers were making the trip. Fourth of July visitors from over the county enjoyed the day here watching the colorful parade, listening to a patriotic program, attending sports and the rodeo in the afernoon, all sponsored by the Blackburn Post 39 of the American Legion. The Post and Auxiliary wish to thank everyone for their support in making the day an outstanding success. Floats winning the prizes were: First, the Goddess of Liberty, decorated by the Clique Club; Second place was a tie between the Columbia float and the Flower Garden Float with both receiving prizes. Many of the prizes for the rodeo and spores were do nated by the businessmen and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Maxfield and Vada and Arthur Anderson made a pleasure trip to Provo and Salt Lake last week. Emery enjoyed a 4th of July celebration sponsored by the Town Board officials. A fine program was presented in the recreation hall of the church with Mayor Homer Jensen conducting the following program: Pledge of Alleg ience led by Burton K. Olsen piano solo, Craig Williams; Orations by Floyd Brinkerhoff and Howard Jensen (of Tooele); songs by Gordon and Ruby Peterson; accordion solo, Burke Burr of Calif, and tap dancing by Patricia Petty, George Oviatt, Susanne Sorensen, Lynne Mortensen and Morris Sorensen.
