Later we were able to go over to Huntington to cheer a base ball game between North and South Emery. By the way, the final score was 12 to 2 in favor of South Emery. To set the day off, the freshies entertained the studentbody by putting over a very successful Freshie Frolic. The floorshow was made up of a partner dance by the class to their theme of "Autumn Leaves, after which their king and queen were honored. In areas of larger populations, a unit is considered to be a detriment, and not allowed to answer a fire call, until they have made at least 15 to 20 trial runs. That is not just going out to see if they can get the truck to pump water; rather it should be a complete drill, from getting the truck out of the garage as fast as possible, with each man instructed as to what his job should be, to an actual simulated fire condition. In case of a fire, where would you call? Who is responsible for seeing that the fire truck is out of the garage and to the scene, of the fire by the time the firemen make it there? Who is capable of seeing that the hoses are strung and conectcd properly, with the minimum of time and ef fort expended? Again, who is assigned to oversee the job, to see that every tiling operates smoothly, or must the men just fill in wherever there seems to be a hole? It is our duty to see that these questions are answered; to see that our investment is protected by providing proper housing, and to see that our homes and families, which are valuable beyond our investment, are given the maximum of protection at. all times. Express yourself by offering to help organize a fire fighting unit, and by offering to hc?p finance the new lire hall. The State Firemens Association has offered to send a representative to Castle Dale to acquaint an organized unit with the problems of fire fighting.
