W. - 5G, NUMBER 31 Castle Dale City Plans To Acquire Fire Engine that Special Correspondent The Castle Dale City has to some time now been investi gating the possibility of purchasing a fire engine for Castf Dale, it was announced thi week by Mayor Louis B. Jone: At present they are goin' toahead with preparations ward securing such a machine as scon as an engine to fit the needs here can be located. It is not the intention to purchase a new machine at this time. It is to be noted that some cities outgrow their fire engines and purchase larger umts. This, of course, makes available their smaller machine some of which often are in very good condition and would be adequate for the needs of Castle Dale. Everyone is no doubt aware of the advantages of having a fire engine in town with a volunteer fire department. Tt is to be noted that a two mill city tax levy for approximately six years would purchase a good serviceable fire engine. The Castle Dale Lions have assumed the responsibility of erecting a building to house the machine, as a project. This building will be located at the south side of the Rocket Theater and will be steam heatec. In cold weather. The engine storage tank will be filled with water at all times and the machine will be ready to go at any time day or night, the year round. The mayor also noted additional fire hydrants will be installed throughout the town in such a location that any house within the city limits will not be more than one block from a fire hydrant. The City Council feels that this will be a step forward in the development of the city and wall welcome any suggestions from you, the people. ASC News student from Castle Dale was honored by the U.
