Show FRIDAY, JUNE 15, 1951 GREENRIVER NOTES by Don Smith Bonnie Baldwin is home for a short visit before returning to the University of Colorado to attend summer school which will start June 14. The Selby Drilling Co. has started drilling the water well for Equity Oil Co. on Horse Bench. They expect to go to the depth of 400 feet if necessary to strike water. The 1L. D. S. Primary presented graduation certificates to six girls from the Seagull Class and five boys from the Guide Class in meeting Sunday night. Children in all other classes were promoted according to age in the regular Primary meeting on Tuesday, v On Monday Mr and Mrs Jack MacKay and children went to Salt Lake. They took his mother, Mrs E. O. MacKay, who has been visiting with them the past two weeks. She will take a bus from there to her home in Ontario, Canada. Clay Asimus and Mrs Marvin Clark are spending a few days in Salt Lake this week. Clay will have a medical checkup. Max is attending school at the University of Colorado at Boulder and has one more semester in engineering. Mr and Mrs Milton Greaves of Richfield were visitors in Emery County this week. Mrs Margaret Lund Stevenson of Mt. Pleasant renewed many friendships at Castle Dale during the fore part of the week, she was formerly a teacher in our schools. About 50 steers, 75 hogs and 6 lambs were shown. In the beef division, Kent Barton of Ferron, stood fourth in line in the prime, purple ribbon class. His steer along with 8 others received $1.00 per pound, plus a beautiful purple ribbon. Four other steers stood high in the placing. Carol Ralphs of Ferron, stood twelfth, Bobby Peacock of Emery, fourteenth, and Rulon Albrechtsen of Emery, fifteenth. All of these steers were starred and competed for the prime class. The Elmo Club won first In the Uniform Contest. Much comment was given on the fine appearance of the club, and Bp. and) Mrs Oran Willson. They also had a very fine exhibit at the show. Carol Ralphs of Ferron had the cleanest and neatest stall during the entire show.
