Show NUMBER 7 t Candidates Named At Greenriver Co. Municipal League Improvement Slated At Castle Dale v Pmsircsss Onrocstry Conn fluty VOLUME L Meets At Castle Dale By Mrs Pearl Baker Greenriver The political pot has started to boil with the Citizens Party placing in the field the following candidates: Mayor, Frank J. Hatt; Recorder, Mrs Lee Thompson; Treasurer, Mrs L. H. Milton and Councilmen, Delbert Tidwell, Delbert Cook, H. J. Howland and William Seely. The Republicans held a caucus the 3rd but found that the new election laws read that candidates must be chosen between the 10th and 24th. They then withdrew their ticket. If the general public is desirous of having more than one ticket in the field, a petition must be presented signed by 25 oua ified voters for the estaDllsh-meof a new political party. Elected and appointed officers of the towns and cities of Emery County were expected to be fully organized in an association called the Emery County Municipal League following a meeting held in Castle Dale on Thursday night of this week. The organization was partly effected in another meeting at Castle Dale on September 29, when Floyd Brinkerhoff, Mayor of Emery, was named President, Zen Jensen, Mayor of Huntington, Vice President, and Herman Behling, Mayor of Castle Dale, director. It is the present intent that the League will hold a meeting each month, each of the towns of the County in turn acting as host to the group;. Purpose of the organization, it is reported, is to provide for coordination of local civic programs, to facilitate exchange of ideas and experiences, and to make concerted effort possible whenever such concert is required. Already, it is announced, the League officers have petitioned the Board of County Commissioners for that Board to submit monthly, instead of annual, reports to the city and town governments on certain matters involving the two bodies, and the Commissioners have acceded to the request. Within the next four or five weeks a sewer line will be extended along several blocks in the southeast part of Castle Dale, to provide sewer line con nections to at least eight more homes, according to Mayor Herman Behling. Sewer lines were installed along about ten additional blocks during the autumn of last year, and this years extension will bring the number of homes in Castle Dale which are fronted with sewer lines mark. close to the 60 Locking to the improvement of its culinary water system to meet the standards of the State Board of Health and to afford better service to users, the Castile Dale City Council is presently contemplating two projects. One is the replacing of the main pipe from the cistern south to the junction of Main and Center streets. The second project is the installation of a filtering system.
