SAUNDERS WASATCH SERVICE 1940 On Monday night the Special Interest groups will be guests at a party at the church. It will be a past Valentine party. All over 25 years of age and all married people will be Invited guests. The Red Cross has sent 500 yards of materials to the local chapter to be made Into articles. Already some women In this community have made about fifty articles. Everyone is asked to assist Mrs. Idell Henrle and Mrs. Irma Snow, who are in charge. S. D. Adams, Mirl Ralphs and Hyrum Zwahlen accompanied a group of Seminary students to Emery and Moore Sunday, where they presented a program in each town. Mrs. Ethel Nielson Is visiting at the home of Mrs. Don Swas-e- y in Salt Lake. The Swaseys are welcoming a new baby at their home. Mrs. Swasey was Miss Georgia Nielson. The D. U. P. will meet at the home of Mrs. Clyda Black on Thursday afternoon. Mirl Ralphs and Richard g Beh-lin- spent the first of the week up state. Miss Dorothy Petersen, daughter of Ranger Petersen, was married to Herbert Shaw In Salt Lake City, on Saturday, Feb. 7. Mr. Shaw Is with the army air corp, stationed at the Salt Lake airport. Mrs. Bruce Klllpack is in Provo at the home of Mrs. Henrietta Klllpack for a time. Bruce spent the first of the week there. The A. O. Thorn construction company, which recently made several thousand tons of gravel for the state road, have completed their job. The men have gone to their homes, but the equipment will remain here for a time. The stake M. I. A. board met at the Brad Jensen home Wednesday night to complete plans for the Stake Gold and Green Ball to be held February 21 and to make programs for the same. Every ward Is urged to bring queen and dancers to the high school auditorium by 7:30 the night of the dance for a brief rehearsel, prior to their performance. Valentine "arties were enjoyed by the different primary classes on Tuesday. Two quilts were made by the ladies of the Relief Society on Tuesday. S. D. Adams is the new Scoutmaster, taking Aaron Williams place. Mr. Williams Is employed in Scofield. The Y. M. L. club held their last meeting at the home of Mrs. Leola Jensen. The new town hall has been reconditioned and equipped and is being used by groups far different meetings. Mrs. Margaret Rolley, who has spent the past several months in Provo, is back here visiting at the Lloyd Pettey home. The South Emery Senior Hop and Sweetheart dance will be held In Emery school auditorium on Saturday evening. School buses will take high school students over and back. The new home of Will Beam-so- n family on Main street, is nearing completion. The family will occupy it within a week. Fred Wayman is In the Price hospital, where he is under the care of the doctor, following an operation. The Juniors and Explorers will present a Sunday evening service the first Sunday in March. Valentine parties were held in the Beehive classes Tuesday evening. A program on the life songs of Evan Stevens was presented by the M.IA. in their assembly. Melvin Pettey of Salt Lake visited his parents here the first of the week. The following dancers presented the M. I. A. dance: Dora and Dean Cox, LaVeraa Duncan and Wright, Lucille Blackburn and Lyle .Wright, and Juanita Price and Clarence Blackburn. The program in Sacrament meeting Sunday was given by the Boy Scouts. The speakers were: Y. M. M. I. A. President Ivan Nielsen, A. L Cox, Archie Edwards and Isabell Barney. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Tucker of Hiawatha spent Sunday here. Jim Riley is home from Spring Glen, where he has been the last two weeks with his sister, Mrs. Mary Jensen. Jim is able to be back in school again after being ill for some time with rheumatic fever. Winifred Charlesworth and family and Grant Charlesworth of Sweets, visited here Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Charlesworth. Primary officers and teachers plan a Valentine party for the children, Tuesday 17, for the purpose of gathering in the Primary hospital contributions.
