An $11,000 tractor outfit was n the job, gouging dirt and ock from the Wasatch moun-ai- n canyon and scraping off agebrush from the slopes. Work on the reservoir fulfills he hopes and ambitions of ar.d stockholders of the untington - Cleveland Canal nd Reservoir association, who ave long sought the project. While President Niels C. Ove-,o- n ir of Cleveland, and other officials say the dam will robably not be far enough along to supply any storage water next year, the bigger precipitation this season, combined with improved farm practices, they will help largely to produce ;ood crops in 1942. Boyd fitted and showed eighteen head of fine Herefords for Dr. Linebaugh, and was successful in winning sixty dollars prize money. Boyd will also exhibit these cattle at the state fair, Ogden livestock show and the Denver livestock show. Besides this new dam measuring 138 feet high, 700 feet wide at the base and approximately 1000 feet long on top, reservoir officials have already expressed tentative plans for raising the dams of Huntington and Cleveland reservoirs, which would be a net gain at little extra cost. This will materially increase farm production by maturing a third crop of alfalfa and permitting more fall plowing on 17,000 acres of first and second class lands around Huntington, Cleveland, Lawrence and Elmo. Besides this, reservoir officials Three-- Y ear-Ol- d Boy Badly Injured In Truck Mishap Merrill, point out that recreational aspects of Millers Flat reservoir will be on a wider scale. The boy had gone to the field with his father to watch a combine at work ini a field near Lawrence. Becoming sleepy, he had lain down under a tree. The noise of the combine startled him, and in his confusion, he ran directly in front of the truck, knocking him down and passing over his body. The accident was entirely unavoidable. The child was brought to the office of Dr. Duggins in Castle Dale, who found that he had received serious internal Injuries causing an internal hemorrhage.
