Bill was preceded in death by a baby Irene Huston Whitney, 93, panned away Jan. 29, 2002 in Moab. Irene was born May 3 1, 1908, in Cuba, to Orrin and Sadie Hunt Huaton. Her family was involved in an ebony plantation. When she was one year old, her family moved to Whitehall, Mich. Irene spent her childhood in Whitehall. Bill married hia wife of 51 yeara, Clara (Hall) Lear in 1950. He spent most of his life as a uranium and vanadium miner. I le moved to Grants, NM during the uranium boom and returned to Nuda in 1963. Bill and Clara raised five children on a small ranch known aa the Krill place in NucU until 1983. I le moved to the Denver area and worked for a mining company for several yeara before retiring to Moab with hia wife. In 1943 they moved back to Michigan to her grand parents home in Whitehall. She then began her business, Irene Whitney Interiors. She also taught interior design classes. After her husbands death in 1964, she moved to East Lansing, Mich. She was r for three years at Kappa Kappa Gamma house, while her daughter attended Michigan State University. She then moved to Fremont, Mich, where she was a consultant with a decorating studio. At this time she purchased the lentwater lodge Antiques, Bed & Breakfast.
