The groom and everyone present were surprised and had a good laugh over this, which added a positive note of humor to the occasion. Following the ceremony was a buffet supper, dancing and visiting. The bride graduated from Arizona State College and received her master's degree from Tulane University. She is a family therapist in Grand Junction. The groom graduated from Mesa State College with a degree in business and is the construction manager for his father's home construction business, Austin and Augusta, in Grand Junction.
