In Colorado, the Hispanic population increased by 3.3 percent during the 1990s. Hispamcs make up 17.1 percent of the population. Hispanic residents make up a much smaller part of the population in eastern Utah, according to the 2000 census. In Grand County, Hispanicu make up 5 6 percent of the population; Emery County, 5.2 percent, and Sun Juan County, 3.7 percent. By comparison. 10.1 percent of Mesa County, Colo, residents are Hispanic. Grand County grew at almost the same rate as the enure state during the 1990s, according to census information released last week.
