The seventh and eighth grader team finished seventh out of 15 teams, with participants Rochel Saggboy, Blair Tepahe, Laura Relph, Angeline Whitehores, Wendy Dalton, Tammra Martin, Emily Bishoff, Veronica Lammert and Trilly Meade. The fifth and sixth grade competed with two teams. One team consisted of veteran girls who had played the year before. They finished fourth out of the eight teams in the A Division. Competing were Mindy McElnaney, Shelly Welch, Heather Tolley, Michelle Saggboy, Caitlin Lange and Taylor Schocknmyer. The other fifth and sixth grade participants were all newcomers. She married Fred Ames in June of 1926 in Moab. Hiey have four children, Freida Ames Casto of Gateway, Colo., Mary Ames Morse of Plains, Mont., Donald (Bud) Ames ofEckert, Colo., and Robert Ames of Cheney, Wash. Lilly and Fred lived in Rifle, Colo, for the first three years of their marriage, and then moved to Gateway, Colo. In 1934 they purchased a home in Gateway where their children grew up and attended school. Lilly was a homemaker and was actively involved in all school and community affairs. In 1945 she voluntarily opened a branch of the Mesa County Library in her home, where it remained until the late 1950s. In June of 1991, following their 65th wedding anniversary, Lilly and Fred moved to northwest Montana to live with their daughter, Mary. Her husband Fred; her four children Freida, Mary, Bud and Bob; 16 grandchildren; 32 all survive Lilly. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Tommy Morse end granddaughter, Cherry Ankenman. Services will be held at Martin Mortuary in Grand Junction at 11 a.m. with interment to follow in Memorial Gardens in Grand Junction with Pastor Ed Matchette officiating.
