Show One hundred and twenty year ago Clomont Clarke Moore'i jolly poem, "A M Vlilt from St. Nicholas, first appeared. Each year since then it has contributed to the joy of Christmas. We want to say that if we were able to gather up all this joy and wrap it up in one big package it would hardly represent our wishes for your Christmas happiness this season of 1943. The First National Bank is profoundly grateful for the opportunity afforded to this instituition to assist the people of our territory to contribute to the war effort. This the second world wide conflagration has brought critical and varied problems to our farmers, the business man and the general public. All through the past year we have noted with pride the spirit of cooperation existing everywhere in our territory. Farmers have produced abundantly, financed wisely and have bouht bonds and stamps most generously. The businessman and merchant also have risen to meet what seemed at first highly insurmountable obstacles and the professional man also has devoted himself unstintingly to the cause which means so much to all of us. The contributions made by the many defense workers also has not gone unobserved. As the Christmas season approaches we reflect upon these varied accomplishments More important, we have confidence that people will continue their magnificent and unselfish effort until the day we all look forward to . . . the day that extend along peace arrives.
